Whirling inserts are the cutting elements used in thread whirling — a high-efficiency process that produces precision threads in a single pass at speeds up to 10× faster than conventional thread milling. Used extensively for bone screw and dental implant thread production, whirling inserts are arranged in a rotating ring that surrounds the slowly rotating workpiece. Available in standard bone screw profiles, implant thread profiles, and fully custom geometries.
